No, currently, there are no membership or Citizen fees to become an Epoch Islander.

You simply need to hold any amount of the vEPOCH currency. The Islanders can vote to charge for Citizenship in the future.

In short, if Epoch Island did not have its own currency, it would need to adopt the monetary policy of a pre-existing currency. While Bitcoin and Ethereum are important assets, Epoch Island needs a currency that can be 100% controlled by the Epoch Islanders.

Yes. There are three types of rewards that Epoch Islanders earn for holding vEPOCH:

Treasury Rewards: At any time, Epoch Islanders can vote to distribute capital from the Treasury to themselves.

Swap Rewards: Anytime someone swaps the EPOCH token, a 5% reward is earned by the Islanders.

Loyalty Rewards: Anytime someone exits Epoch Island before their time commitment is complete, they must pay back their Treasury Rewards.
