100% of the yield generated by stakers is used to buy EPOCH tokens off the market and distribute the funding to people, projects, and builders within Epoch Island.

vEPOCH is the governance token of Epoch Island.

Together, vEPOCH holders control the Epoch Island Treasury and major Network State decisions.

Anyone can mint vEPOCH by adding liquidity to EPOCH and locking it.

In short, if Epoch Island did not have its own currency, it would need to adopt the monetary policy of a pre-existing currency. While Bitcoin and Ethereum are important assets, Epoch Island needs a currency that can be 100% controlled by the Epoch Islanders.

Yes. There are three types of rewards that Epoch Islanders earn for holding vEPOCH:

Treasury Rewards: At any time, Epoch Islanders can vote to distribute capital from the Treasury to themselves.

Swap Rewards: Anytime someone swaps the EPOCH token, a 5% reward is earned by the Islanders.

Loyalty Rewards: Anytime someone exits Epoch Island before their time commitment is complete, they must pay back their Treasury Rewards.

These EPOCH tokens are redistributed to active Epoch Islanders.
